Use of influenza vaccine: Group results
Percentage of eligible patients
receiving an influenza vaccine during their hospital stay. When patients
have pneumonia they are more vulnerable to getting other infections, such as
influenza (flu). During flu season (October through February) patients with
community acquired pneumonia should be given the flu vaccine during their hospital
stay. In the fall of 2005, there was a national shortage of the flu vaccine.
