PCI/angioplasty received within 120 minutes of hospital arrival: Group Results
Percent of eligible heart attack patients receiving PCI/angioplasty treatment within 120 minutes of arrival at the hospital. PCI stands for percutaneous coronary intervention and may also be called angioplasty or PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty). PCI is a treatment for heart attack that unclogs the blocked artery that supplies blood to the heart.

Reducing the length of time before a clogged artery is opened can help reduce lasting damage to the heart muscle. It is important that this therapy be given as soon as possible after a heart attack is diagnosed.
